Te Whare Taonga O Raahui Pookeka Huntly Museum is located inside the beautifully restored 1939 railway station on Glasgow Street at the Train Platform. Their journey is a testament to Huntly's resilience. After our historic building was severely damaged by arson during its relocation, our community rallied together to rebuild, restore, and reopen the doors on October 4, 2025.

 

Huntly Museum act as a proud guardian (kaitiaki) of Huntly’s rich spirit. From their deep Maori roots as Raahui Pookeka to our mining, farming, and industrial heritage, they share the stories that define us. Their exhibits span millions of years, featuring everything from ancient regional fossils to modern local milestones. Every artifact they display was directly gifted by local families. They also feature a community gallery showcasing artwork from local children and host interactive workshops for families. They are a proud not for profit organisation thriving on collaboration.
